Montessori Radmoor

C.J. Hadlock, who recently completed his freshman year at the University of Michigan, attended Montessori Radmoor for much of his early education, beginning in 1998 in Julie Cavanaugh’s P1 class.  He was with Ms. Julie for three years.

C.J. moved to elementary with Ms. Margie for 2nd through 5th grade, including part of a school year spent at a Montessori school in Charlottesville, Virginia (called Mountaintop Montessori).  Currently C.J. has not declared a major at the University of Michigan, but he is interested in business.

Montessori education, he says,  “has given me a strong sense of pride in community.  Growing up in the close knit family that was Montessori Radmoor, I grew proud and loyal for what I was a part of.  Moving on in life has led me to be proud, not only of the school I attend, but also my roots through family and other communities.”

His years spent with the academic freedom of Montessori came with it responsibilities and values:

“It taught me the value of hard work.  Not because it is required of me, but because I want to work hard at something I’m passionate about.”

At last fall’s Race for Radmoor, C.J. Hadlock was one of our age group winners, placing first among “Alumni”.
