Montessori Radmoor

Dear Parents,

Fall is on its way out the door and winter is on the horizon. This time is usually a time of anticipation for many families and children as trips to visit family and friends are being planned. The students look forward to these times as well.  What better way to guide their enthusiasm than by helping them plan for the trip. Ask them to make packing lists or plan out activities that can happen in the car if you are taking a long car ride. These activities encourage your child to become part of the process of planning and enable you to spend one on one time with your child. It makes them feel important and needed and we all need that in our lives.

Right now the children are helping to plan many things. Autumn Romig has been coming in to teach the children how to make soap, bubble bath, sugar scrub and bath bombs to sell to earn the money to purchase gifts for the Greater Lansing Foster Children’s Organization. The children had no idea how much math would be involved! Look for signs in the lobby that will advertise when these events will happen.  We would like to thank all of our volunteers for dedicating your time and supplies to our cause to help those in need. It is our goal to raise enough money to purchase 6 gifts at $35 apiece. If you would like to donate a gift or money towards this goal, please see Miss Christine for information.

As the weather is starting to become unpredictable, please make sure your child is coming to school with proper winter attire: hats, gloves, coats, and winter boots and snow pants. The children always get so excited when it begins to snow and look forward to going outside to play.

Please remember that we will be closed for observance of Thanksgiving break Wednesday the 25th of November. Winter break starts December the 21st.

A final reminder, we love to see the children playing on our grounds after school, it is a very busy time. We would like to ask that every child is being chaperoned by their parents if they are allowing their child to stay after school to play with their friends.

Have a great Thanksgiving!

Christine, Danielle and Sarah
