The children were able to meet Ms. Julie this week and get to know her before she comes back on Monday, May 16 when I am on maternity leave.  It was nice to see the children interact with her and she was also able to help a couple of the children with their work.  She spent much of her time learning the children’s names and observing them throughout the day.

As International Night approaches the children have been so excited to work on their South American animals.  The older children have been researching South American animals and writing about them.  They then get to create the animal to hang up in our rainforest.  The younger children are painting the Angel Falls right now and will begin to create Machu Picchu next week.

The children have also been working very hard on making their Mother’s Day gifts.  They are very excited to take their gifts home and share what they have made.

As my last day before my maternity leave approaches, I wanted to thank everyone for a great school year.  I have enjoyed spending each and every day with your children.  They make my job so fun and meaningful!  After my maternity leave, I look forward to returning next school year.
