Toddler 1 October Blog

Hello from Toddler 1 community.  We are all settling into the classroom and learning many new routines. The new children are learning set up and clean up at snack. The older children are learning how to help the younger children by showing them how to put their backpacks away and turning on the water for them. I see a lot of practical life work being done in the classroom right now. We have many children interested in sweeping, mopping and washing tables.

We are going to start some pumpkin recipes and make homemade applesauce within the next few weeks. Our first baking project will be pumpkin bran muffins.

Don’t forget to sign up for conferences on Ivolunteer and remember we are closed October 31st and Nov. 1st.

Now that the seasons are changing, you may see shorts going home in your child’s backpack. Please replace these with long pants. A sweater or extra sweat shirt at school is nice for outdoor time in case it’s colder than expected.

It’s nice to see all the children learning how to work together. I especially see this happening at small group time when we have been singing and, at the end of September, we started Yoga Fridays. The children really love yoga and enjoy breathing in and out like they are blowing up a balloon. When we let all the air out, we relax our bodies and everyone giggles.  The best kind of Yoga for smaller children is animal yoga because they like to be animals at this age.

Enjoy your week.
