Montessori Radmoor

Hello toddler parents and welcome to the month of January. We have had quite a start to the New Year. I’m sure we are all looking forward to getting back to a schedule after having a nice long break. I would like to start off by welcoming three new students. Gretchen, Amrit, and Finley are joining our class. I look forward to getting to know them and introducing them to the other children.

Upcoming activities include baking with the toddlers, Miss Jessica will be counting to us in Spanish at small group, and Miss Chandrani will be finding books that peak our interests. Thanks to all the families who donated something from our wish list.  We have new art supplies on the way.  With the money that Max’s family donated, we bought a new easel and some larger farm and pet animals to use with our wooden barn.

I look forward to guiding the children with some of our new work. We are switching from vegetable of the month to fruit of the month. We’ll start with oranges for January. We’ll work on peeling, squeezing, and eating them.

We have a lot of cold days ahead of us. When sending in clothes, please make sure you send in long sleeves. Also, this time of year having extra socks is a good idea. Socks get wet when changing back and forth from indoor to outdoor shoes.

One more thing I can’t express enough is please LABEL everything that comes into our classroom, especially if your child stays all day.  We have many mix ups on shirts that aren’t labeled. We have many boys with the same shirts or shirts that are similar. Please label. Thanks!

Here’s to better weather and a great New Year! Enjoy your children!

Kristy, Chandrani, and Jessica
