Montessori Radmoor

Outdoor environment at Montessori Radmoor

Here we are moving into November!   With the onset of colder weather, please remember to dress children appropriately.  We go outside every day, weather permitting so it is helpful to send your child with extra socks, long pants, long sleeve shirts, and an extra pair of mittens. Toddlers need mittens much earlier than you think. Their hands get cold quickly. Your child should have a jacket that is appropriate to wear outside as well. Michigan’s weather changes quickly so dressing in layers is a good idea. Also don’t forget hats, preferably ones that have a velcro strap or ones that stay on well. Clothes that are functional help keep our toddlers warm.

I know it can be hard to remember all these items so we also send home reminder slips.  We appreciate you sending in those items as soon as possible.  We do have extra clothing but we go through it quickly. This is a friendly reminder that if you have any of the classroom’s extra clothes marked toddler at home please bring them back in a timely manner.

As you all know, we are toilet training many children at once and accidents quickly leads to the depletion of our extra clothes, so lots of socks and underwear are appreciated. If anyone has slippers or socks that your child has outgrown, we would be happy to take them. Some of our younger toilet trainers may be able to use them.

I wanted to let you know that my room is very warm during the winter months so the children who are just wearing their underwear while toilet training will stay warm. If we feel a child needs something to keep their legs warm we will make sure they stay warm and get their pants back on.

Please check your child’s backpack every day for notes and wet clothes. We will check backpacks every morning. Thank you for your cooperation and we appreciate all of your efforts to work together to keep the toddlers happy and healthy!

Sincerely,

Kristy
