Montessori Radmoor

Hello and Happy November from T1.

We have been finding ways to use pumpkin in our snacks. The children really enjoyed eating the pumpkin pancakes. Some of the older children helped with flipping the pancakes. Other children helped by washing the dishes and washing the table for snack.  If you’d like to make pumpkin pancakes, just substitute a half cup of pure pumpkin to any pancake mix instead of using an egg. We added a bit of cinnamon too.  They were very tasty.

The children have also been enjoying books, words, and naming objects. In fact, we have two elementary students who have been making books for our class and reading to us at group time. Recently, the two students wrote a book about guinea pigs. After they read the book to the children, we borrowed Miss Archana’s guinea pigs. Then the two students taught our children how to pet a guinea pig and how to brush them. It was a nice way to interact with the older children and have a helpful lesson.

We are getting close to Thanksgiving break. The children have made something for their family and will share it the day before we leave for our small break. Look for a bag to come home on Tuesday.

Our vegetable of the month is Squash. We will try acorn squash and butternut the week of the 18th. I’ll let you know which one is our favorite.

Thanks for sending in warmer clothes and snow pants. We do go outside every day weather permitting.

Until next time… enjoy the rest of the month.

Kristy, Chandrani, and Jessica
