There are amazing moments in each and every day of my life as a toddler teacher. It’s simply amazing what I observe and learn from these young people on a daily basis. Recently at the end of the day, our class was just in the beginning process of getting ready to go home. One of our oldest toddlers was walking across the room and noticed a bag that one of our youngest toddlers had dropped. She stopped, picked it up and walked over to the other child. She handed her the bag and as she walked away I heard her say, “I’m taking care of my classroom.”

That statement, said to no one in particular, really amazed me. I thought about the sense of pride she must have and how much confidence she has built. About the sense of accomplishment, and the real work she just did to contribute to the community. Lastly, how she must see herself as such a valuable member of our community.

It’s these simple moments that just make my day. I’ll be thinking of that moment for a long time. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year brings for our children and our class. Thanks again for sharing your children with us!
