Montessori Radmoor

Hello Toddler 2 families!  I’d like to start here by saying thank you. Thank you for being so patient during this transition time between Ms. Sue leaving and Ms. Tania beginning.  Although we were sad to see Ms. Sue retire, we know she is spending some much deserved time with her own family. As you’ve heard and seen, we are happy to welcome Ms. Tania. She is excited to join our community and get to know everyone. She brings her experience as a long time Radmoor parent and native Spanish speaker. Once she is settled into our classroom she will also be speaking Spanish exclusively to all of our toddlers! This is especially exciting as toddlers are in the best time of their lives to receive new language. They are in a period of life that Dr. Montessori referred to as the sensitive period for language. For our toddlers the acquisition of language is effortless! I am so excited to have this amazing opportunity for our toddlers.

I also wanted to share with you some of the things we have tasted this fall. After planting and taking care of them all summer, we have recently finished taking out the tomato plants that were growing on our playground. Our class spent an entire outside playtime harvesting the last of the green tomatoes. We placed them in a paper bag to ripen over the next month, and hope to enjoy the last harvest then, as well as, share with our guinea pig Milo. We have also been eating a lot of seasonal fruits and veggies. We’ve been eating apples, pumpkin and squash. Some of the different ways we have enjoyed these foods are making pumpkin smoothies, butternut squash purée, butternut squash and banana muffins and pumpkin pie oatmeal, as well as tasting and smelling everything individually.

As always thanks for sharing your amazing children with us!
