Summer School
Summer School is an optional program that is available to our current families.  We offer Toddler and Primary Summer School as well as Elementary camps.

Ages: 18 months - 3 years

From 8:30 a.m. to Noon and/or  Noon to 3:00 p.m. (or 5:00 p.m.), the toddlers enjoy this time in the Montessori environment as they continue to demonstrate their independence, explore and manipulate materials, as they are provided with numerous opportunities to practice their “life” skills.  The staff utilizes the fenced-in area off the toddler community as an extended classroom for art, water, and practical life activities such as gardening, and more.  Art materials are always available, but twice a week there will be special art projects.  Besides the daily fruit or vegetable tasting, there will be a weekly food preparation activity.  The toddlers also go on a variety of field trips, such as the MSU children’s garden, the zoo, berry picking & horse farm.

Staff - Staff currently in the Toddler Community will organize activities for the Summer Sessions.

For the toddler program you must be signed up in the morning program to stay for the afternoon session.

Ages: 3 - 6 years

From 8:30 a.m. to Noon and/or Noon-3:00 p.m. (or 5:00 p.m.) children will be provided the opportunity to continue his/her work in the Montessori primary community with a trained Montessori Guide.  Sessions will be held in the Montessori primary classroom that consists of practical life, sensorial, language, math, art, music with the bells and the science materials.  During the summer, the outside environment is utilized for gardening, nature study, extending botany and zoology to the outdoors, and using the greenhouse for smelling and tasting activities.  The children continue to develop their self-direction as they choose from a rich environment of hands on materials. It is amazing to watch them grow at their own pace and gain confidence in their skills.

Staff - These summer activities will be organized and conducted by current staff members.
